Many Thanks for Life

fruit tree

I thank the tree For the gift of its fruit.

It sacrifices its unborn child

Which will never sprout From the womb of the Earth.

I thank the fish For the gift of its very existence,

To sustain the miracle

That is my body

Through yet another beautiful day

Within the treasure called life.

I thank the Earth For the gift of its blood,

fish in river

In its sparkling clear simplicity,

That quenches the thirst of the body,

And rejuvenates the soul.

I thank God For the gift of life.

A blessed package of experiences,

Delivering me to enlightenment

By showing me the One Eternal Truth.

The Love in The Am

I am Love.

Love I am.

heart

That Love I am.

That Love I am.

I can’t deny that Love I am.

Can you measure it by the gram?

I cannot measure it by the gram.

Would you be Love here or there?

I would be Love anywhere.

Do you feel Love in the air?

Love’s in the air, and everywhere.

Do you Love the rocks, and trees?

I Love rocks, and trees, and a gentle breeze.

Do you Love your enemies?

I create friends by Loving enemies.

Do you Love the falling rain?

Of course I Love life-giving rain.

Are you Love when you’re in pain?

I’m even Love when I’m in pain.

I’m Love in pain,

And in the rain.

I Love my enemies,

And rocks and trees.

I am Love when I’m here or there.

Yes, I am love anywhere.

I am love.

Love’s what I am.

Thank-you, thank-you,

Great I Am.

The Teacher Is The Student

I teach teachers,

Who are born into this world

To grow all of the lives that they touch.

I learn patience.

I learn humility.

I learn appreciation

For all that I have.

Most of all I learn love.

They are labeled “disabled,”

But they are more able

Than any other human being

To do God’s work,

And through our connection,

I am patient and humble.

I am appreciative, and loving.

Through our connection, I grow.

Tears of a Hero

(written shortly after 9/11/01)

I cried so many tears for you,

9-11-firefighter

That I could have washed the soot from your skin,

And the sorrow from your heart.

I cried so many tears for your fallen brothers,

That I could have watered their ashes,

And made flowers bloom from them with fresh life.

I cried so many tears for those you helplessly yearned to rescue,

That I could have doused the flames, and allowed their escape.

I cried so many tears for the families of the missing,

Who looked to you for hope, when there was none,

That I could have made a river,

heros with flag

On which they could sail away

To a place where there is no grief.

Each tear that forged its trail

Down the terrain of my face

Brought me closer to you.

I cried so many tears for you,

That we became one,

And I knew not where you ended, and I began.

I cried so many tears for you,

That I found the hero within me.

There’s No Such Thing As Late to Unity

If on Sunday morning,

As the birds sing

A sweet lullaby

To lull me back to sleep,

I cuddle up

Under the covers,

Unity

And drift back into

Some sweet dream,

I know when I arrive

I will enter into joyful singing.

And if on Sunday morning,

As I stay in spirit,

And feel God’s peace

Coursing through my soul,

I choose to take time

To be in the silence

With my Creator,

I know when I arrive,

I will enter into

A room full of hugs and laughter.

And if on Sunday morning,

The water from the shower

Feels so wonderful

That I am called into grateful song,

As I feel my soul

Collect the water’s energy,

I know when I arrive,

I will enter into the silence,

And be still with my Spirit family.

These words would never

Have come together in this state of being

If there was any such thing

As late to Unity.

And I know as I arrive today,

I will receive the energy

Of Love all around me,

And my entire being

Will glow with God’s Light,

And I will feel like I’ve come home,

As I arrive perfectly timed

At Unity.
